GNM Nursing Admission 2022: GNM Nursing basically stands for General Nursing Midwifery. It is a nursing diploma course that is offered at various colleges/ universities in India. Mostly every college in India provides admission to this course through the entrance. However, there are few colleges, which offer admission directly.
The entrance exams are conducted state-wise. Aspirants can apply for GNM Nursing through the official websites of the conducting bodies of the respective States. It is a three-and-a-half-year diploma course including a six-month internship. Candidates can pursue GNM Nursing after completing Class 12 in any stream.
GNM Nursing Eligibility
The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has set standard eligibility criteria for the GNM Nursing diploma course. The eligibility criteria are uniform across the states but the allotment of seats is carried out on the basis of the reservation rules of the respective state. The aspirant must have cleared class 12 with English and must have secured a minimum of 40 per cent in aggregate in the qualifying examination and English separately from any recognized board State Open School recognized Candidates are also eligible for State Open School recognized by the State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However, aspirants with a Science stream will be given preference
The aspirant must have passed class 12 with English securing 40 per cent in aggregate in vocational ANM course from any Institute recognized by the Indian Nursing council The aspirant must have passed class 12 with English securing 40 per cent in aggregate in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre
GNM Nursing Application Form
The admissions to the GNM Nursing diploma programme are concluded on the basis of merit and the entrance test. The INC along with the State Nursing Councils under the aegis of Health and Welfare Ministry, Government of India, and the State Health departments are considered responsible for the admission process of the GNM Nursing diploma course.
